What is "vision" anyway?

We hear it all the time. "He was a man with vision". There are people with "vision", there are people who say they have a "vision". Is it a "have" or "have not" situation? Are the people with "vision" the ones who have realized their "vision" or are they just the "lucky ones" who have had their "visions" accepted and applauded by the powers that be. Is it this acceptance that makes them the "people with vision"? What happens if a "vision" is unaccepted, or misunderstood. Are you then just "ahead of your time". What the hell is a "vision" anyway? Isn't it just an accepted idea? So if it just an accepted idea than who really has "vision"? Isn't it just luck, "being at the right place at the right time"? I think I have a headache.

Vision means being thrust high enough above the crowd so that you can see something. With an emphasis on thrust. Sometimes you can or have to climb a tree on your own to do that. But in that case, you may have to wait until someone else is thrust above the crowd high enough and in the right direction to see what you saw. In that case, you might be recognized as having vision, too. If you're lucky.

I have never had enough "thrust" in people.
